Turkish League

The Turkish League, officially known as the Süper Lig, is the top professional football (soccer) league in Turkey. It operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the TFF First League, the second tier of Turkish football. The Süper Lig consists of 18 teams that compete annually, with each team playing each other twice, once at home and once away. The league was founded in 1959 and has since become one of the most prominent and competitive football leagues in Europe and the Middle East. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. Additionally, the league serves as the primary platform for Turkish clubs to qualify for European competitions, such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The Turkish League is known for its passionate fan base, intense rivalries, and significant cultural importance within Turkish society.
